Earthquakes

In preparation for a potential earthquake, please take the following steps: 

  • Prior to Earthquake
    •  Assess your work area for potential dangers, i.e., heavy objects on high shelves, unsecured  cabinets or shelving etc.                        
  • During an Earthquake:
    •    Move away from windows, glass partitions, shelves and cabinet
    •    DUCK close to the floor, COVER under a table or desk, HOLD on to it. 
  • Post-Earthquake:
    •    Stay calm and wait for instructions from safety team.
    •    Be prepared for aftershocks.
    •    Apply emergency first aid as necessary.
    •   Do Not:
      • Use phones except to request emergency assistance.
      • Light matches or turn on electrical switches.
